Beginning Sunday, March 15, Real Church Chicago will meet in the ReCreation Room (2447 N Monticello Ave) for Sunday Worship Service. Due to the recent announcement from the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) that all extra community events not be held in schools until after the Easter Break due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have decided to meet in an alternative location.
Service will begin at its usual time of 10 am. We will praise God for the next five weeks (possibly more) in this temporary location. Should CPS close schools we will meet on Facebook Live and discontinue service in the ReCreation Room. We will keep you posted.
This also means that Children’s Ministry will be paused and children will be included in service.
As a church plant, we understand the value of keeping it simple, being flexible, and being grateful for a place to worship our God. So at this time, let’s move to prayer and relax through this process. We have somewhere to meet and we have a community that loves each other. It has never been about the building, but about worshiping God wherever we’re at. And where we’re at will be in the ReCreation Room (2447 N Monticello Ave).

What Can You Do?
We ask that you continue to seek God in prayer and to intercede on behalf of others by fasting. Already, as a church, we have fasted the last two Sunday nights and we hope to continue this spiritual practice as a community. As a leadership team, we have been praying for the Fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control) to be produced in us, in our city, and in our world. Will you join us in that prayer?
Continue to follow the recommendations from the CDC, including washing your hands, avoiding unnecessary touching, etc.
If you feel unwell, we encourage you to catch service on Facebook Live or to listen to the podcast later in the week. We are a community that serves and loves one another, so if you or your family need help please reach out to someone in the church.
And lastly, we will work to provide a safe place of worship. We will be wiping down spaces and providing hand soap and other items for people to use on Sundays.
